How do you stay motivated? Do you ever feel like giving up?
What tips do you have for other WAHMs who may need a boost? ...

Working at home and taking care of kids is such a big job that I sometimes get de-motivated when I just think of all the work I need to finish! That is usually cured by staying up late or getting up early, along with a huge cup of coffee. But more important, the flexibility of owning my own business allows me to pick and choose projects that truly interest me. I always have tons more ideas than time and resources to complete them, so I am careful to choose those things that will keep me motivated so I will actually follow through. Not only that, I know that in order to get paid I must complete my projects and make new ventures succeed -- being able to put food on the table and pay my bills is probably the biggest motivator of all!

Every so often, I have to set the alarm, get up and get showered and dressed and go off to pretend to work outside the home.(Maybe three times a year). Those are the days that make me grateful to be home the other 362 days of the year. I would much rather burn the midnight oil at home with work then put on stockings and squeeze into that old blue suit that I have just about wrung all of the confidence out of, and go sit in traffic and pay to park, and play along with the outside world.

I stay motivated by surrounding myself with positive people that want great success. In addition, I take advantage of trainings!!! I listen to motivational training calls daily, I watch trainings 1 - 3 times per week from my home and I attend at least 1 training per month.

I think of the following:
The absolutely wonderful times I've been able to have with my kids since I'm practically a stay at home mom
Doing work that I love for clients I (mostly)like
How much money I'm making
How much freedom I have, both for work and for home
How unhappy I was working in an office with the boys in day care
How much time I have to talk to my husband
How GUILT is not an operative word in my life any more (except for eating too much!)
How I got what I wanted when I really put my mind to it
How I can spend time with scouts, school, and doing things for people who need it
...and the list could go on either further, but you get the drift
