The Times I Don't Remember
by Rawland Storm

The times I don’t remember—
From birth till five years old—
I find myself reliving
As my children’s lives unfold...
When I tuck you into bed at night
My mind goes back to the time
When I was in your place
But knew not words nor rhyme;
The things I am doing now for you
My parents did for me
But it’s only now I understand
It’s only now I see;
From tucking you into bed at night
To helping you say your prayers
I picture myself in your place
With MY parents standing there
And although I never thanked them
For all they did, when I was small,
I’ll now try to thank them daily
By giving you my ALL.

Rawland Storm
